The solution to this is to add "Columns" to your content box, and put one widget in each column (you can make up to 3 columns) Some small widgets like the polls are smaller then the widget box, so in order to make them fit side-by-side simply shrink the width of the widget box (this will not affect the actual widget) and slide the gray bar all the way over
